The East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD) in San Jose, CA, oversees approximately 1,711 staff who receive both salary and supplemental pay. The supplementary payroll department relied on paper time cards and spreadsheets.
To streamline this, the district sought an electronic time tracking solution for mobile and desktop, featuring multi-level sign-offs, overtime tracking, departmental allocations, and automated notifications.

I co-designed and implemented the KAIROS app, which met the payroll department's needs for time card management, overtime tracking, and data routing. However, the district did not adopt the app long-term due to constraints on time and resources for training personnel. This project highlighted the importance of designing practical solutions and ensuring sufficient training and resources for successful implementation and adoption.
